Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of recursive.eco (the “Service”), operated by PlayfulProcess LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (and old enough to form a binding contract where you live) to use the Service. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your access credentials and any API tokens secret. Tell us promptly of any unauthorized use.

2. The Service

recursive.eco lets you create, store, share, and AI-illustrate “grammars” (symbolic systems such as decks, books, and sequences), and to connect AI agents via a personal API token. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

4. Your content & license

You keep ownership of the content you create. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you (including sending it to the AI providers needed to fulfill a request you initiate). If you make content public or submit it to a shared channel, you grant other users the rights described in the app for that channel (e.g. to view, copy, or fork). You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload.

5. AI outputs — important disclaimer

Some features generate text or images using artificial intelligence (“AI Outputs”). AI Outputs are produced by automated systems and can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or fabricated (“hallucinated”) — this is a known characteristic of the technology, not a defect. AI Outputs are not professional advice of any kind (including legal, medical, financial, or psychological). You must independently review and verify AI Outputs before relying on or publishing them, and you are responsible for how you use them. Because copyright law generally does not protect material generated solely by AI from a prompt, we make no representation that AI-generated images are protectable or exclusive to you.

6. Credits & payments

Paid AI and storage features are metered against prepaid credits you buy through Stripe. Credits are a closed-loop balance redeemable only for features within the Service. Credits are non-refundable (except where required by law), non-transferable between users, have no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for cash. We may change pricing prospectively; current rates are shown on the pricing page. Stored content above the included free allowance may incur recurring storage charges as described in the app. If you initiate a chargeback for credits you have consumed, we may suspend your account and recover the disputed amount and associated fees.

7. Intellectual property

The Service’s software, design, and branding are owned by PlayfulProcess LLC and protected by law. These Terms grant you no rights in them beyond using the Service as intended.

8. Copyright / DMCA

We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to valid notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice with the required information (identification of the work, the infringing material’s location, your contact info, and the required good-faith and accuracy statements) to our designated agent at pp@playfulprocess.com. We will remove or disable infringing material and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (Supabase, Vercel, Cloudflare, Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, Stripe). Your use of AI features is also subject to the relevant provider’s acceptable-use policy. We are not responsible for third-party services’ availability or acts.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL AI OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLAYFULPROCESS LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY AI OUTPUT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PlayfulProcess LLC from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. 4–12) survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms; we will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
