Children are future ancestors in recursive time. The ones who will shape sense-making tools after us. What we give them now prepares them for what they'll create later.
This is a place where you can curate your own playlists and post your own stories for kids. If you use our kids-forward viewer, especially in kiosk mode, you can ensure kids will only access content published in this channel—no other YouTube thumbnails or redirects will show.
How to import a YouTube playlist or channel in one click
- Click the Offer button below.
- Paste a YouTube playlist URL, a single video URL, or even a channel URL into the Tool URL field. Anything with
youtube.com/playlist, youtu.be/, or youtube.com/watch works.
- Hit Submit. The form will fetch every video's title + thumbnail + duration and build a grammar for you in one step — no separate import button to click.
- The thumbnail of the first video becomes the grammar's cover image automatically. You can override it before submitting if you want a different cover.
- Your name and Personal Channel URL pre-fill from your settings, so every submission is consistently attributed to you.
Best practices for Kids Stories
- Curate gently. Watch the videos start-to-finish before submitting. The kiosk viewer plays content in sequence; one off-tone video derails an afternoon.
- Combine YouTube with your own images / videos stored in public Google Drive folders. Parents can mix narrated stories, hand-drawn images, family videos, and licensed music into a single grammar.
- Add a clear description explaining the age range, language, themes, and any content warnings (loud noises, fast cuts, etc.). The description is what other parents read before pressing play.
Don't want to wait for admin approval?
Every submission lands in your own Personal Channel immediately — even before an admin approves it for the public Kids Stories channel. You can:
- Watch it yourself with your kids right away via your Personal Channel link.
- Share the link with family / classmates. If they're not signed in to recursive.eco, the kids-forward viewer shows a sign-in gate before any content plays — so the link is safe to share without giving children unmediated YouTube access.
- Add the
?kiosk flag to the Personal Channel URL for full lockdown mode (no overlay, no related videos, no redirects).
